Surfshark review
Genuinely unlimited devices, and a two-year price below NordVPN, ExpressVPN or CyberGhost.
What we like
- Unlimited device policy with no per-device cap on one subscription
- Two-year plan at 59 USD, below NordVPN, ExpressVPN or CyberGhost
- Deloitte-audited no-logs policy and 100% RAM-only servers
- Alternate Virtual Locations and IP rotation for extra flexibility
- Useful extras bundle in at no extra cost
What we don't
- Dutch jurisdiction means 9-Eyes intelligence-sharing obligations apply
- Fewer independent audits than NordVPN or Proton VPN
- Now owned by Nord Security, so it is not an independent alternative to NordVPN
- Renewal pricing still steps up noticeably
Our verdict
Surfshark wins on arithmetic. One subscription covering every device you own at 2.49 USD a month on the two-year term is difficult to argue with, and the Deloitte audit means you are not trading privacy for the discount. Be aware that it is now part of the Nord Security group, so if the reason you avoid NordVPN is its corporate ownership, this does not solve that.

Score breakdown
The weighted total, and what each component contributed. Weights are published and identical across all eleven providers.
Why we scored it this way
Two Deloitte audits and a full RAM-only fleet, but Dutch jurisdiction places it inside 9-Eyes, so it gives up privacy points to NordVPN and Proton VPN. The price score is the second-highest in the list at 9.6: the 2-year term costs less than NordVPN, ExpressVPN or CyberGhost.

Surfshark questions
How much does Surfshark cost?
The cheapest plan we list works out at $2.49 per month for 2 years, which is $59 in total. That figure can change at any time — we last verified it on the date shown above — and it is the effective cost of the whole subscription rather than a headline monthly rate. You get 30 days to change your mind.
Can Surfshark really be trusted not to log my data?
The claim is supported by 2 independent audit engagements with Deloitte, the most recent dated 2025-06. RAM-only servers: Yes. Intelligence alliance membership: Inside the alliance. Real-world legal test: not published. We rate what is verifiable rather than what is promised, which is why this answer scores the way it does.
Why does Surfshark score what it scores?
Surfshark scores 9.1 out of 10, which places it number 2 of the eleven we review, under the badge 'Best value'. The score is a weighted sum of privacy, speed, value, streaming and ease of use, with the weights published in full on our methodology page. Affiliate commission had no influence on any component of it.
